Tandem Skydive

A tandem skydive is a skydive experience where two people jump out of an aircraft together and is the quickest, safest way to enjoy a skydive in South Africa. The student is attached to an experienced skydive tandem master who expertly performs all actions during ascent and the entire descent.

Your tandem master will be a licensed skydiver, who went through some pretty rigorous training, such as making over 1000 jumps and spent at least ten hours in freefall to earn their instructor title.

Getting Started with Skydiving

So, you have decided that you want to learn to skydive and jump out of a perfectly good aircraft, on your own?

Fantastic, you came to the right place. We are a licensed student training drop zone, with vast amounts of experience among our AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) course instructors, ensuring that you are in safe capable hands, every step of your journey.

What is the Accelerated Free Fall Course?

AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) is the most modern form of skydive training and the preferred method to learn to skydive. It focuses on personal one-on-one training and takes a person from beginner to skydiving on their own with the competence to handle emergency procedures, fall in the correct body position and fly and land a parachute safely. As the student, you will exit the aircraft and skydive with your own parachute from 11,000ft with an instructor(s) by your side. Because of the high altitude, there will be plenty of time to complete all tasks.

How long before you can skydive?

The AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) course consists of Ground School and 10 Jump levels that must be passed when you learn to skydive. Levels 1 to 3 will be completed under the direct supervision of 2 instructors. Levels 4 to 10 will be completed under the direct supervision of 1 instructor. It is recommended that the AFF course be completed as quickly as possible. Once you are a licensed skydiver you would need to remain current, but you will learn more about this later.

The Drop Zone for Fun Jumpers

Fun Jumpers of all levels are most welcome with all disciplines catered for. We pride ourselves on ensuring all Fun Jumpers are prioritised so they can have as much fun as possible. All the instructors on the Drop Zone are there for any advice as needed. The views are something to marvel at – you can see all 824km of the Vaal Dam’s shoreline from altitude. For something really different, why not do a Beach Jump – it’s there and waiting for you. The onsite canteen is there for all to catch up after jumping and the town has over 12 bars in a 5km radius.
