WELCOME TO DIAZ EXPRESS
All aboard the Diaz Express, a fun rail experience for the whole family run on the existing Transnet rail network in the Garden Route region of South Africa, between George and the seaside resort of Mossel Bay.
Mossel Bay, a popular tourist destination, serves as the main point of departure with excursions to a variety of attractions including the ever popular Santos Beach, Great Brak River, Glentana and Maalgate.
All excursions have lovely views over the Indian Ocean (with a ringside seat for whale watching during the season), river estuaries and the indigenous plant life of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

With our variety of excursions, we combine unsurpassed scenery, history, visits to quaint crafts shops and art galleries with gastronomic experiences par excellence!!!
For instance, the boutique coffeeshop/art gallery Seeplaas where we can enjoy stunning scenery and good friendship over a cup of coffee with “Something Sweet”; and afterwards lose all track of time amongst the exceptional artwork of Kenny Maloney.
At Great Brak we have a choice between the formal award-winning Transkaroo Restaurant in the exquisitely restored station building; or a lighter lunch in the Opispoor Pub & Grill next door, with endless views over the Great Brak River and lagoon.
In the Mossel Bay harbour area there is a plethora of restaurants specialising in seafood, traditional South African cuisine, or plain burgers and chips: Kaai4Braai, The Oyster Box, Simply Asia, the Sea Gypsy, etc.
Sit back and experience the lovely views over the Indian Ocean, the river estuaries, the bridges, the tunnel, as the railway line meanders high above the seaside resorts and past the indigenous plant life of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
