Port O’ Call is situated along the beachfront in Trafalgar, a small coastal town on the lower south coast of Kwazulu-Natal, midway between Margate to the north and Port Edward to the south. Two beach paths provide direct access to 5km of uninterrupted beach with Marina Beach and San Lameer to the north and Mpenjati Nature Reserve and Palm Beach to the south. Whilst the beach is part of the Trafalgar Marine Reserve normal recreational activities are allowed and only spear fishing and gathering of bait and crayfish is prohibited.

The main swimming beach is protected by shark nets and life guards are on duty over week-ends and during school holidays. Our beach is a safe beach and is popular with swimmers and surfers and the area is well known for its fishing. Being away from the densely populated areas our seawater quality is also excellent.

The area is generally unspoilt and during low tides the shallow reefs can be explored with snorkels and walkers will find the long sandy beaches ideal for their daily walks. There are five golf courses and numerous other sporting and entertainment facilities available between Shelly Beach and the Wild Coast Casino. A visit to Oribi Gorge is an attractive alternate on days when the beach is not favoured.

Remember…. if you intend spending your holiday at the sea – Port O’ Call is your guarantee that next to the sea you will be!
