This bleak landscape is, on second glance, an area of towering cliffs, clear streams and a unique biome dominated by the aloe and dwarf baobab tree with its yellow peeling bark and midsummer red tubular flowers.
The 27km Swartberg Pass is considered one of the finest mountain passes in the world. The untarred road winds its way to the summit some 1583 metres above sea level and offers breathtaking views at every turn.
Meiringspoort is identified by soaring cliffs and spectacular rock formations along the 25 km tarred road which winds along the gorge, crossing the Groot River no less than 25 times.
There is a playground with trampoline, swings, see-saw and slide available for children. We also have a swimming pool area which is fenced in.
We also offer camping facilities, which is suitable for tented camping.
