Have you ever wondered where the name VLOEDBOS comes from, and why VLOEDBOS in the Overberg …?

The name comes from the poem “the Flood will fly again” by Carina Stander – where it is dry, where there is nothing, God will make an oasis.

The word flood in the flood forest will fly again (the name of the debut volume) reminds of abundance and of a crowd: a “flood” of people. To say that the floodplain will fly again is a prophetic expression of Hope, an expectation that the earth can flourish or “fly”.
